Benefits of Aqua Therapy

Did you know that our bodies are made up of 70% water?

Did you know that the earth is also covered by over 70% water too?

We drink it. We cook with it. We clean with it. We bathe in it. There is no denying that we NEED it.

As professional aqua support facilitators we see the benefits of aqua therapy first hand on a daily basis.

The physical benefits of Aqua Therapy include:

  • Decrease in pain and muscle spasms
  • Decrease in rigid muscle and joint compression
  • Increase in balance and coordination
  • Increase in joint flexibility
  • Improved circulation
  • Low-impact, supported environment

On top of the physical benefits, there are also a number of other advantages, including:

  • Relaxation
  • Joyful light-hearted fun
  • Sense of achievement
  • Confidence building as skills improve
  • Trust building
  • Life-skills development
  • Independence building
  • These principals assist in being functional and successful in all aspects of daily living

In our many years of providing AquaAccess4All services and sessions, I have heard many truths. These mean the most because they come directly from families and young people that we have supported.

This feedback includes:

“Our child’s sessions allow them to be calmer in an emotionally regulated way for up to 2 days after their session. For this reason we come twice a week to support his needs.”

“My pain in my back and legs was less noticeable in the next day and by day 2 I could feel my sore body return so I’d like to come more often if I can.”

“Water time gives my grandchild the time to move freely outside of a wheelchair and practise ideas from the physio with low impact.”

It’s these moments of pure, honest joy that help us absolutely love doing what we do.

We may be totally biased, but we truly believe that the water is one of the most rewarding places for everyone and the list of benefits really are endless!

If you would like to feel these benefits for yourself please contact us to join our participant waitlist!

Please keep in mind that water access and hydro sessions are not always suitable for every “body”. It is important for each individual to seek professional advice and understand that your response and outcomes are a measure of how to best guide you through your options or choices.

Aquaaccess4all provides opportunities but your own research or therapy/Doctors guidelines should be considered at all times.

We encourage you to reach out to talk to us about how your support requirements can be managed or catered to.
